A Few More Frames of Acros II
And Some Movie Talk, Too
I watched Babylon today. It’s a divisive film, and I kinda like it. I am not a huge fan of the maximum approach, but it does not bother me that much, and it’s a fitting way to show the Hollywood excess. I dislike some of Nolan’s films for the same reason. Tune it down, sir! I find his films way too saturated sensory wise. Babylon has more breathing room, which is important for a film over three hours long. I remember being very tired after watching Oppenheimer. I watched the IMAX70 version, and the visual blew my mind, but with the sound and the editing, it’s overwhelming, exhausting.
The opening party scene of Babylon is insane. It must’ve been hell to produce. When I saw it, I was thinking: This might be a mistake. Luckily, it’s not just craziness throughout. The film was shot on Kodak motion picture films, and I live for that look. The shot of the theatre facade got me. Overall, I enjoyed it more than I expected going into the film.
Now comes my controversial opinion: Brad Pitt is a better actor than Leo Whatshisname. If you don’t agree, please do not try to persuade me. You’d probably have a better chance to persuade to pope to convert to Islam. To me, Leo acts too much. You watch him act, and you know he’s acting. He tries too hard. Pitt is more natural. And my rambling stops here.
Today, I am posting a few more frames from my Fujifilm Acros II roll. It’s a very lovable stock. Anyway, photos.
The boat in the reflection is the Jeanie Johnston, a museum commemorating emigrants who fled the famine.
This is it. Thanks for being audience to my rambling. See ya!

Nice one - both taxt and pics. I am with you. Brad over Decap. No question. Though both are prone to a bit of overacting form time to time. The final image is my favourite. Well done!
I love every one of these shots! Amazing. I need to be looking at them when I describe them, but can't do that, so I won't. I agree with your actor evaluation, too. Pitt is the character. Leo is Leo. Thank you for your talent and speaking your piece.
