Along River Liffey
Welcome back!
Today I watched Bugonia on 35mm film projection in theatre. There seemed to be some calibration problem with the projector. The vertical edges of the screen were tilted so the projection is trapezium shaped. The movie is an adaptation of a 2003 S. Korean one named Save the Green Planet, which I have not watched. Bugonia is a fun watch. And I recommend you watch the 35mm version if you could. It’s rare these days to catch a movie with analog projection. My last one was the iMax 70 version of Oppenheimer, which I watched solely for the projection. Digital projection is too annoyingly clean and perfect. I love the grains, highlight flickers, and the occasional flash of imperfections of on the celluloid, which digital projection simply does not offer. I am drawn to shooting film for the same reasons. That said, today’s photos were shot on a digital sensor. Please prepare yourself for a bunch of 0s and 1s.
It’s been raining a lot lately, a prominent characteristic of Dublin, or the Emerald Isle as a whole. I am not a fan of rainy weathers, but sometimes they make interesting photos. I took a walk along river Liffey before the movie, and took a few photos. The cloudy weather made some otherwise boring photos moderately bearable. Here they are.
The Samuel Beckett bridge.
Ireland’s tallest building and the Dublin Port.
Silhouettes of things.
Another shot of Sam Beckett bridge.
Near symmetry.
A coffee cup. Another candidate for my Out of Place series.
Reflection
A smug lamp post. I think it’s saying: “Oh, really?”
The concludes today’s post. Thank you for stopping by and bearing with me while I try to sort out my MPS. Till we meet again….

Digital maybe, but a cool b&w !
Leading lines for days!
