Cliffhanger
Hello, one and all!
Today, I drove the wife to her office. Not wanting to deal with the hustle of city centre parking I decided to drive home, but take a more scenic route. I drove up the coast to Howth, a lovely little town by the water. And then, I went on a hike willy nilly. There’s a cliff walk I’ve always wanted to check out, and today was the day.
So grab your hydration pack and come along for the hike along the misty Irish coast. And if you are reading this on your email app, may I recommend you switch to Substack, coz this is gonna be a long walk.
Sail boats. It’s not a bad place to start.
Trailhead view.
A frame.
A peak through the greenery.
Ruins of a house perched over the sea.
A fellow cliff walker.
This door hasn’t got much use lately.
Another cliff walker over the cliff.
The steps ahead.
Looking down.
The couple ahead of me walking straight into the mist.
Sea, cliff, and a blanket of fog.
Weather most Irish.
Silhouette of a cliff.
Muddy path ahead.
A spammed trail sign doesn’t help anyone.
Shades of grey.
More mud.
Fence and fog
More fence and fog.
A literal fork in the road.
Entrance to somewhere.
Someone enjoying a little alone time
Off the trail on my way back to the car park, I saw this stair that goes to nowhere.
For at a red light.
At another red light.
That’s the hike! Thank you for coming along with me through the muddy trail. I sincerely hope you’ve enjoyed the hike as much as I. Until the next hike….

Misty for sure. Muddy. Great walk with you and your camera. Thank you!
Those walks are so different, but the photos share a darkness that is not necessarily your photographic style (I've seen brighter images made by you), but rather a choice that often suits the subject. I like many photos in this post: the wide trailhead view, a frame, the steps ahead, fence and fog and more. So I have to urge you to revisit this cliff (maybe in brighter conditions)!
