Dear Vicky: 5 Shots from The Streets of Hong Kong
Welcome back to those who read this. I fell asleep going through my catalogue for something to post yesterday, which was why I posted one and a half photos shot on the P30 film stock. Ooooops!
I am well rested today, and I am back to posting normal stuff. We are going back to Hong Kong’s hustling streets. These photos were from the pre-pandemic days, which felt like a century ago. It’s easy to tell because most people were not wearing masks in these photos. As the world has moved on to accepting COVID19 as part of life, many people in Hong Kong are still wearing masks today.
The five photos today were all shot on Hong Kong Island, so I am posting them in the order of their geographical locations: from west to east.
I shoot most of my photos with either a 35mm or a 50mm lens. This photo was an exception. It was shot on a 135 f2 lens.
This is Tai Yuen Street, Wan Chai. The dark building in the top centre of the frame was where our first apartment was when my wife and I moved to Hong Kong. Through the living room window of our 30 sq metre apartment, we could see the most expensive apartment building in Hong Kong at the time. One of the units sold for 500 million Hong Kong dollars in 2015. Leave it to our dear Vicky to offer a little perspective on life.
I must say, as a photo guy, I’ve never heard of this website selling “selected fine camera & lenses.” The singular camera sounds fishy to me.
And that’s it for today. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, or have a good Monday!
