Dear Vicky: Film Noir: Labouring Away
And A tip that might save your life
Sunday night descends on us faster than I could say: “Wait, what!”
I wanted another movie night, but couldn’t decide what to watch. There are unhealthily too many choices. So here I am, posting again. Sorry world!
Here’s another addition to the Vicky Noir series. Going through the archive, I realised that there were many photos of people working on the streets of Hong Kong. It’s never been my focus, but because of the sheer number of the labours out there, some were bound to be shot, luckily for them, by me, not the mafia, well, most of the time anyway. If you’ve been to Hong Kong, you’ve seen them, and heard them. Here's piece of travel advice that might just save your life in Hong Kong If you are walking, and hear 睇住-pronounced tai zyu- jump out of the way, run onto the main road if you must, and let the nearest driver figure out how not to kill you, because otherwise, you are gonna get run over, and blamed for it. I think the rule in Hong Kong is if you are moving anything of weight, you are not responsible for including, but not limited to killing someone on the sidewalk. Better safe than sorry!
Here’s the photos.
There it is! Thanks for going through this. You are welcome for the life-saving advice. Be safe!

The people moving stuff in HK are incredible, especially now with the heat and humidity. Oh they’ve got to contend with those who walk about staring their phones 🙄
My husband used to live in New York and if anyone got in the way of like a DHL person, they would get a tongue lashing!
This might be my favourite batch yet, such good subjects and the intense black and white just drives the story you told. These guys don’t give a fuck, they see only in black and white, move or be run over haha. Awesome stuff, dude.
