Dear Vicky: Griddy O’ City
I’m back.
It’s been a while. I hope everyone reading this had a good Easter weekend. We had some bad weathers in Dublin, which was business as usual here. Nothing much was done during the long weekend. I haven’t posted any Dear Vicky stuff for a long time, a mistake that demands immediate rectification. Good ol’ Vicky has always been the true love of mine.
Today’s theme: grids. I like shooting through grids, window panels, etc. It’s an easy way of adding layers to the visual. One might call it treating, but what’s not? Not many of us are creating new ways of shooting photos every day, right? Photos:
Not exactly “grids.” This probably works better for my scaffolding post, but I forgot it at the time, and it’s not too much of a stretch for here. The Hong Kong government, in its infinite wisdom, is banning bamboo scaffolding starting with government contracts citing safety reasons. It’s Hong Kong’s typical chickenshit way of doing things. It will be a sad day when Hong Kong loses this craft.
There’s a saying in Chinese that goes: One leaf falls, and the world knows it’s autumn.
Goose-stepping much?
This is sad one. These grids were put up after the Occupy Central protests in 2014. Oh the times, they are a-changing.
This hole was later fixed. This was during COVID, and I have a photo of the fixed grid.
There it is for today. Thanks for coming along.

The times they are a-changing. Fantastic shots.
