Dear Vicky: Pipe Dreams III
Hello!
I went for a run today. My plan was 25 kilometres, and I ended up running 30. Now, I am typing with my eyes half closed, because of the jet lag, not the run.
If you have been following this Substack since its early days, you might remember the series I named Pipe Dreams. It was, well, pipes, outside buildings. I am fascinated by the patterns, and I think they make interesting photographs.
During this trip back to Hong Kong, I got to go out and photograph more pipes. I am happy I got to keep my pipe dreams going.
In case you are interested, here are links to the previous instalments of Pipe Dreams:
Here’s my latest pipe dreams.
This is a remake of a photo from Pipe Dreams I. I walked past this housing estate and remembered I had shot this photo six years ago. So I decided to recreate it. Below is the original.
Close enough?
Pipe chair.
Barbed wire…
Entanglement.
Important pipes protected by a surveillance camera.
That’s it for today! This is my Hong Kong pipe dreams for now. Thank you for stopping by.

I like to read about someone's 'special subject' or 'obsessive theme' and see their photos. I didn't see the previous posts of your pipe dreams (going to check hem for sure), but I love this one. It's gratifying in a way to see the intertwined pipes that make sure the vital liquids of a building reach their destination, with their interesting twists and turns. And the two photos with six years between them show that you're still seeing these pipes the same way.
I absolutely love me some pipes, a fabulous subject. These are great finds and captures!!
