Dear Vicky: School of Fish
Who can forget Kurdt Cobain’s immortal lyrics: “It’s ok to eat fish, coz they don’t have any feelings?”
Who would’ve thought it’d be difficult to get fish or other seafood in Ireland, an island nation? It’s one of the things I miss the most about Hong Kong. But today’s post is not about fresh fish, but dried fish. It’s quite a sight in Hong Kong everywhere you look. I have to admit I’m not a fan of drying your foodstuffs on the curbs of busy roads. Dried seafood is a big part of Hong Kong’s food culture. Hence today’s post.
Oh, salted egg yolks are also an important ingredient in the Hong Kong cuisine.
Tangerine peels, again, very popular ingredient.
Another type of dried fish
Bored yet?
I’ll wrap up today’s post with some live fish. This is from one of my favourite restaurants in Hong Kong. Bon appetite!

interesting that you have color on this set. It portrays the rhythm of the streets to me, The neatness of their presentation of fish is almost fanatical. I guess that is because it is crowded. Whoa...I got lost in it for a minute. Thanks aS always.
Great work! You have a way of giving feeling to your portraits.
