Dear Vicky: Street Shots
I love walking around Hong Kong with a camera, even though it is not the most walker friendly city in the world: narrow sidewalks overcrowded with people who don’t know how to walk properly, hot weather, dripping AC units, just to name a few obstacles. It’s such a busy city with interesting visuals popping up everywhere waiting to be seen, and walking lets you see these things. It became even more important when the pandemic hit, and I lost my job. I got the time and more reasons to walk around. And I got to rediscover the lovely city I took for granted. Now I’m away from Hong Kong, I still have pictures to look back at.
Enough nostalgia for me. Here are a few photos shot on film from my pandemic walks around town.
I shot this one from a tram. But I don’t consider it cheating.
I am gonna stop here, but be warned: there’d be plenty of posts like this one coming.

“…with people who don’t know how to walk properly.” Ha! This is a pet peeve of mine when I’m grouchy.
Fantastic shots. Love the first one with the shadows and movement contrasted with the closing sign.
Hey, I just noticed the billboards and posters are all of White women. Where are the Asian women?
