Dear Vicky: The End
Hello, everyone!
If you expect this post to be the end of my substack, or the Hong Kong series, I am sorry to disappoint you. It’s not gonna be the end of either.
Today’s post will be a brief one with one and a half photos.
One night while in Hong Kong, I went out for my neon hunt. There was a particular sign I wanted to shoot, and it was my only targeted subject to the east of my hotel. So I hopped on a tram, and ten minutes later, I got to the sign. I knew I was nearing the end of my last roll of Kodak 500T. I climbed up an overpass, and there, I found the ideal vantage point for the shot. Yada, yada, yada, I was ready. And here’s the photo.
It’s a spooky photo if you read Chinese. The sign says Hong Kong Funeral Home. After this shot, I reframed for another shot, which, I believe, was better. And as I pressed the shutter, one of the two people on the street pointed up at something to the other, which made the photo more interesting. At least, that was what I thought at the moment. I was excited about the last photo, and there….
I got a halfsie. That’s the end of the roll, and the end of today’s post. Thank you for coming along for this spooky ride. I’ll see you soon!

1. What a strange thing: a neon sign that big on a Funeral Home. 1. That halfsie looks good, and it has been exposed (well, half of it) differently, what a difference in that blue neon! 3. You seem to have a extraordinary knack for having bad luck.
Excellent. And a great halfsie. You have a lot of those, do a HK halfsie post!
