Dear Vicky: The Sun’s Out, So Are The Umbrellas
It’s been a while since my last Dear Vicky post. It’s mostly my fault, mostly, not all. So I am here to rectify that.
Umbrellas are an important accessory in Hong Kong. Come rain, or come sunshine. There are always umbrellas. They are also used as a street weapon. Watch out for them on the sidewalks. Those pointy tips float right around your eye level. They’d pop your eye out and blame you for it. Seriously, I’ve been on the receiving end of that more than I care to count. Another tip about umbrellas: they are useless during typhoons unless you want to try some untethered paragliding.
This dude is serious: camcorder in his right hand; DSLR in his left. And I think he has at least one other device.
That’s it for today! Thank you for being here with me. Have a lovely weekend!

Umbrellas hide you. Like you said, they are an effective weapon. They are another thing to hold in a battle for balance on our bodies. They fill your pictures and are fun to see.
Thanks.
Umbrellas are abundant where I am, and if I wanted to be a millionaire I’d get into selling them because they don’t last you more than 5 minutes. This city destroys umbrellas, our weather eats umbrellas for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It’s to the point where even the latest in umbrella technology cannot withstand a simple Halifax rainfall, I’ve spent the money, I’ve seen the pinnacle of umbrella advancement and it’s garbage. These photos are not though. They are very nice, Li.
