Debut of Post Modern Ridiculism
Welcome, one and all to the worldwide debut of a new movement of artistic photography-Post Modern Ridiculism.
Since the time of Joseph Nicéphore Niépce almost 200 years ago, photography as an art form has seen many great talents, many movements transforming how we see and document the world, and many technical advancements that have allowed us to see as far as the deepest darkness of the universe, and as small as the tiniest subatomic particles. However, technology is a double-edged sword. Since the popularisation of smartphone cameras, photography as a whole has stalled. Every photo is taken to “go viral” on social media. Photography has fallen into the abyss of cliches. Dominated by social media algorithms, people quickly fall in line. The same photos are being reproduced over and over again, same composition, same angle, same lifeless perfection. The tragedy of perfection has saddened many true lovers of the art form, but incapable of fighting the algorithmic force. Until now!
Out of such desperation and desolation, a new artist rises bringing to the world a new revolution in photography. Post Modern Ridiculism (PMR) isn’t simply another photography movement. It challenges all the rules, theories, aesthetics in photography that have trapped us for decades. It aims to change how we coexist with planet earth through the medium of photography. It is raw to the point of unhinged; it is provocative even to the most open-minded; it breaks every rule ever established in the world of photography. It, put simply, will change photography into a whole new form of art that has never existed in human history. It dictates what to photograph, and how; it employs new techniques that have never been attempted; it presents a new world, a world of endless possibilities while seeming improbable to the conventional wisdom. And we owe this revolution to one artist, a genius the world isn’t quite ready for, but is forced to be graced by. And I am honoured to present the debut collection of the artist.
This is PMR, the artistic movement that challenges dogma, conventional wisdom, rules, and all the cynicism and complacency that have been built into the culture of visual art. And it will introduce a new way for humans to interact with the world through a new visual language. When the old fails us, the new becomes inevitable. We owe this groundbreaking artistic revolution to a young artist. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the one, the only Georgie, the Ridiculist!
Thank you for bearing witness to the Renaissance of photography! Please consult the receptionist on your way out should you require the PMR Handbook. See you soon!

This new movement should have its own category in photography awards; but I doubt anyone will ever be able to challenge the work of Georgie. He's the Ansel of PMR!
PMR is what we have all been searching for, for so long! Well done Georgie! And well done on the pitch!
