Oh Ferrania P30!
It’s a lovely black and white stock, but….
It was said to be the film stock used by Federico Fellini. It was revived by a group of people with the original production line, yada yada yada.
I’ve shot a few rolls of the film and I like the look. It’s contrasty and the grain is fine. It’s an ISO80 film, but I rate it at ISO50. It works fine. I can even see myself rating it as ISO25.
The production quality leaves much room for improvement, and I am not being mean. I like the stock and I admire the work they’ve done to provide good and affordable alternatives to big names like Kodak. But every roll I’ve shot, there seems to be some issues. Two of the rolls snapped out of the canister at the end. Light leaks are common. And there are other kinds of imperfections popping up here and there, which can be annoying. Ferrania has come up with two new stocks, and I hope the quality has improved. And with all sincerity, I hope it sticks around. Here are some photos
I kinda like this photo with a scooter somehow got tangled up in the net, and a football kicked into the net, but the dark blob on the top is annoying
Light leak
And more light leaks.
Anyway, that’s it for today!

I actually like the dark blob. It makes the net look like a 1980s video game and gives the texture more depth
