Kodak Gold Photo Dump: New Roll
Hello, world! I’m back from a three day weekend break, which was supposed to be a movie night on Friday.
I watched the Batman starring Robert Pattinson from 2022. I’ve been having this movie idea for a while: Bruce Wayne going to therapy. That’s it. The whole movie is just about Mr. Batman getting some therapy he desperately needs, and Gotham desperately needs. Maybe he forms a support group with all his frenemies: the Joker, the Riddler, etc. I’d watch that. Mental health matters.
I also watched a season and a half of Abbott Elementary, which is pretty good, although some of the teachers there could also benefit from some therapy. But it’s a lovely show for this crazy-ass world.
I got new scans back today: a roll of Kodak Gold. And that’s what today’s post is about. I do prefer Kodak Portras to Gold, but Gold costs less than half what Portra 800 does, so before I win the lottery, I’m gonna stick to Gold if I want to shoot colour. And if I mess up, which happens a lot, it does not hurt as much.
This roll was shot mostly in Dublin, with the last few frames shot in Cork during my marathon trip.
I wish I could come up with a project, or develop a theme, or find a topic to narrow my focus, and bring a bit more discipline and consistency into my photos. But at the moment, I shoot randomly without any purpose. Anyway, plan for future rolls.
On to the photos.
I don’t normally post selfies, but here I am, in the flesh…, in a funhouse mirror reflection. I look like an alien, and I like it.
Again, you can see a bit of yours truly in the photo.
This joke is a low-hanging fruit, but who’s stopping me?
I guess over-sized boots are trendy now? What’s happening here?
This was when I wish I had a wider lens so I could get more reflection from the mirrors. There’s a lot going on.
I’d like to thank the guy in the pink Burberry t shirt who walked into my frame last second. Nice shirt, sir!
I am gonna stop here, because I just realized this is an accidental post about reflections. Ain’t that neat? It doesn’t matter. It’s neat to me.
Thank you for coming to my little corner to visit me again. Come back to see more from this roll.

Love these, but I had to stop at the big boots and go into a spiral of WTF haha. Always love how you inject a bit of funny into your writing and shots. So good.
I love your idea about therapy for superheroes.
The best therapy show was the Sopranos, though. There is still nothing as good as that show to
make you question the dark side. We were discussing this show in another Note: ƘIM'S CONVENIENCE on Netflix.
I think you would like it.
It is definitely in my top 10
favorite sitcoms.
Reflections make great pics and these are very nice. Thanks for the trip!
