November, Yankee, Charlie II
Hello all, and welcome to my stack.
I hope your week is going swimmingly. It’s been raining so much here, I feel like I am swimming every day.
Last week, New York City elected Zohran Mamdani as its new mayor. Even if you are not totally on board with Mr. Mamdani’s radically progressive politics, at least be happy that he beat Cuomo. To celebrate the new mayor, here’s some photos from the Big Apple I took in 2016, when the world was naively optimistic. Those were the days, weren’t they?

Another reflection.
Statue of Vladimir Lenin over the East Village as a rainstorm is brewing. Mere seconds after I snapped this photo, the rainstorm hit. My wife, and I with a friend of ours were drenched before we could say “uh-oh….” We stopped at an eatery and tried to wait out the rain, but failed. I left my backpack in the eatery when we left. I didn’t realise it until 20 minutes later. My friend and I ran back to the eatery to get the bag. It was a fun day.

That’s it for today. Thanks for coming along with me down the memory lane. Till we meet again!

These are great! Good vibes!!
(And I admit I was smiling wide as I voted for Mamdani from abroad— and I made sure that my ballot was received and counted. I’m so very happy he won! It’s been too long since there’s been hope and joy in politics…)
These are fantastic!
