Revolog Paper Film 400
I tried a vanity film. It’s complicated.
I usually shoot normal film stocks from big names like Kodak, Ilford and Fujifilm(it should really call itself Fujidigital nowadays.)
But when I came upon this Revolog Paper Film, I decided to give it a try. I don’t know why. The brand produces vanity film stocks mostly, films with random lightening bolts, colour tints, etc. I guess the target audience is those who have an appetite for experimentation, or Instagrammers, maybe.
The film claims to have a paper-like texture, especially in the shadows. I got the film, shot it over a couple of days, and sent it to the lab. The results I got? Ugh.
Maybe I messed up the exposure completely. Most of the roll came back way darker than I expected. It’s got that paper-like texture, alright. This thing is not for me. I’ll stick to the normies, where I know what I’ll get. Here are some of the shots. They are bad, I know. Don’t unsubscribe, though. I am going back to the normie stocks, I promise.
I’m not sure about this paper-like texture. I prefer clean film. This stock looks mouldy.

This is not a successful experiment. First, this type of film stocks is not for me. Second, I should’ve exposed the films way better. But I can see this stock working for some people. Just. Not. Me.
Thank you, and I’m sorry.

Ooh. It definitely gives that dream-like quality. Man on the escalator looks like a still from an art film.
Just saw CONCLAVE. Li, for the art direction alone, you should see it. Amazing movie.
