I like taking photos of dogs and cats. Dogs are difficult subjects due to their eagerness to engage with you. I usually stay a good distance away from them if I want to shoot a photo. The one time I got super close to a big chow chow dog in Taiwan, it licked my camera. That was fun. Cats, on the other hand, don’t care. They mind their own businesses. I respect that. Having lived in Hong Kong, I’ve seen my share of cats. Many shop owners in Hong Kong love cats in their business establishments, especially the dried seafood shops in Sheung Wan. That just makes perfect sense, doesn’t it? Cat in a shop full of dried seafood. What could go wrong? But if you walk past those shops regularly like I used to, you’d come to view the cats as part of your walk. Here are some cats I shot over the years, some are from outside Hong Kong.
