Awesome pics. I saw the female protestor the other day while I was on the bus - she was walking in the middle of the road (Cotton Tree Drive) with her flag.
I am looking forward to seeing more pictures, but enjoy the trip!
Glad you are in your favorite spot. The pictures are great. I laughed when I saw McDonalds. Can't escape them. Get your rhythm back and take lots of pictures. :)
I was there for just over a week in early January 2019 and it was lovely. The weather wasn't too hot or cold. It was just a nice time to be there. My plan was to go back in 2020, but we all know what happened at that point and then life has been too backed up with family trips home to get any other country travel in since. Having to spend a few years without seeing family made it so that most trips since have been family focused except the occasional weekend jump to Japan if I have a long weekend.
I knew Hong Kong is densely populated, but this is crazy! Everything screams lack of space, but not in a negative way. Your photos clearly show your love for this place. I think this might be my favorite set of your photos so far, they are unbelievable!!
Thank you, Vincent! Hong Kong's population density is absolutely insane. I hope my future photos will bring a little perspective. If you google hong kong small apartments, you'd see some really shocking stuff.
Some great shots (especially that escalator reflection), despite the lack of sleep. Have fun; and I hope George settles into the local time zone quickly!
Excellent batch of photos!
My favorite: bamboo (!) scaffolding! Never heard of such a thing.
Thank you, Jeremy. Bamboo scaffolding is one of Hong Kong's traditional crafts. It's all over the city. Until a couple of years ago the city's scaffolding was almost exclusively bamboo. I might be biased, but it's my favourite thing of the city. Here's an old post about bamboo scaffolding. https://open.substack.com/pub/18percentgrey/p/dear-vicky-bamboo-scaffolders?r=1psfb&utm_medium=ios
Very interesting!

Thank you, Sarah! It's good to be back on the old stomping grounds.

Thank you, Linda! McDonald's is extremely popular in Hong Kong.
Nice series. Thanks for taking us along… Best for some quality shut-eye in your future.
Thank you! Sleeping is over-rated, which is what I wish was true. But it's getting better.
Good job!! I am impressed on virtually no sleep, and the photographs are almost straight! Well done. 😆
Thank you, Søren! It's mostly hail mary shots.
Clearly, Mary is good to you!
These are SO great and you've really inspired me that bamboo shot is everything!!! WOW!
Thank you, Michael! Bamboo scaffolding is my favourite thing in Hong Kong.
Fantastic set.
Thank you, Paul!

Oh, rockin' shots Li. Great stuff. Glad to see you back on this side of the globe.
Thank you, Hanz! It's fun to be back in Hong Kong. Hope photography god gives me a little help in the next few weeks.
Beautiful stuff, Li. It's a wonderful place for photography. I've only been once, but I absolutely loved it.
Thank you, George! Yes, Hong Kong is lovely, especially this time of year.

Thank you! Yes, George had a rough couple of first days, but he's settling in well.
I miss HK almost every day, more so now after seeing these.
